Back for a Visit

The Rappaports were back in town for a visit, and the kids hung out at our house for awhile this afternoon.  They all helped Erin make a batch of homemade frosted sugar cookies.

I'm so glad we've been able to keep in touch!

Jellies at the Shedd

Erin's working on a project that's related to the marine biology trip she's taking this summer, and she needed to take a trip to the Shedd Acquarium today to do some research.

  Drew and I couldn't resist joining her so we could catch the jellyfish exhibit.  The genius of adding different colors to the backgrounds of the exhibits was brilliant.  I could have lingered here all day!

What a Difference a Year Makes

Last year at this time, we were getting slammed with one of the worst blizzards in Chicagoland history.  Honestly, after three consecutive years of 50+ inches of snow, I have enjoyed this year's reprieve.  Here's a picture I took of parsley that's still growing in my herb garden from last summer.
