The Arts at Irving

Drew's been a part of Irving's gifted and talented program, and this year his teacher, Mr. Packer, gave them an introduction to Shakespeare.  As part of tonight's The Arts at Irving, Drew and two of his friends performed a scene from The Tempest, and Drew played the role of Trinculo.  I was so impressed with the way they all spoke old English so eloquently!

After performing in The Tempest, Drew quickly ditched his cape and dashed from the library to the school auditorium, where he sang with the 4th-5th grade chorus.  With this being my last child's last choral performance at Irving, I must admit I got a little teary-eyed as the students sang Greatest Love of All as a tribute to the late Whitney Houston.

Once again, I'm amazed at the enormous amount of talent in our neighborhood elementary school.  I'm so proud to live here!

Mother's Day

My three children:

Kelsey, who has a super-sensitive heart for the poor and downtrodden of this world

Erin, who is my driven, hard-working middle child

Drew, whose exuberance for life is unmatched

The three of you make my whole life a celebration, not just Mother's Day.  I am blessed beyond words to have you in my life.  I thank God for the privilege of being your mom.
